The Kaba

A silhouette from home, reimagined.

The Kaba is inspired by a dress I grew up wearing and seeing on the women around me — a generous, flowing silhouette we called Kaba.

Made with vibrant wax fabric, this floor-length dress celebrates the freedom and ease of the silhouette while giving it a contemporary Matue Couture expression. The voluminous body is balanced by an off-the-shoulder neckline and long, puffy sleeves, creating a look that feels feminine, dramatic, and effortless.

Its relaxed shape allows the fabric to move freely around the body, making The Kaba a beautiful choice for celebrations, dinners, gatherings, or simply those days when you want to dress with presence without sacrificing comfort.

Part of our Threaded Origins Collection, The Kaba is especially personal — a memory of the clothes I knew growing up, carried forward into something new.
