Hosted by Matue Couture in partnership with the International Leadership Academy, Resilience invites guests into a thoughtfully curated experience featuring original artwork, contemporary fashion, cultural storytelling, and meaningful connections.
A Note from the Founder
After years away from home, I returned to Africa and was reminded of something powerful: resilience is not only found in moments of struggle, but also in creativity, beauty, and community.
The paintings and garments presented during this evening are rooted in experiences, memories, and observations gathered throughout that journey. Some stories are deeply personal, while others reflect the strength, dignity, and beauty I witnessed in the people and places around me.
Resilience is my invitation to pause, reflect, and celebrate the power of creation as a way of preserving culture, honoring our journeys, and imagining what is possible.

The Experience
The Art Exhibition
Resilience is a collection of original paintings by Simone Talla created with acrylic paint and yarn on canvas.
Each piece reflects moments of challenge, perseverance, identity, and hope—exploring the many forms resilience can take in our lives and communities.
Guests will have the opportunity to experience the collection, meet the artist, and acquire original works.
The Fashion Presentation
The evening will feature two runway presentations celebrating the artistry of West African textiles and contemporary design.
Threaded Origins explores the stories, craftsmanship, and symbolism found in Ghanaian textiles.
Golden Rhythm showcases garments created from handwoven Faso Dan Fani fabric from Burkina Faso, reimagined through modern silhouettes designed for today's woman.
Cultural Performance
A special Ugandan dance performance will bring movement and storytelling to the evening, honoring the rich traditions that continue to inspire and connect communities across Africa.
Marketplace & Conversation
Following the presentations, guests are invited to explore a curated marketplace featuring fashion, artwork, and handcrafted accessories while connecting with artists, creators, and fellow guests.
